Robert Purnell, Managing Partner

Mr. Purnell has twenty years of experience in global strategy consulting, structured financing investments and real estate. His industry experience includes financial services and financial technology, consumer products, asset-backed lending and commercial real estate. As Managing Director for Shepherd Capital Partners he is responsible for all engagement management and product deliverables, as well as business development, and client and partner relationships.

Previously Mr. Purnell was a Principal with Swander Pace & Company, a boutique management consulting firm in San Francisco, where he provided advisory services to Fortune 100 and equivalent companies seeking new growth opportunities via acquisition, new market entry or expansion, and competitive positioning. During his tenure there he assisted his clients with over $500 million of M&A activity and strategic growth initiatives.

A native of Des Moines, Iowa. Mr. Purnell lives in the San Francisco area with his family. He holds an M.B.A. from The Wharton School, an M.A. in International Business from the University of Pennsylvania, and a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Michigan. He is actively involved in various community organizations, has lived and traveled extensively overseas and is fluent in both Spanish and Portuguese.
